We are a varied bunch of artists, makers and designers committed to producing our own handmade items. Some of us are professionally trained with years of experience, some of us are self-taught or just starting out. Our group has grown steadily since our first small Craft Fair in October 2010. We support each other creatively, share ideas, resources and celebrate contemporary handmade craft culture. Whilst we are mostly based in Chorley and the surrounding areas we welcome like-minded members from further afield.
We also host a Maker Meet-up once at month in the Community Centre, Eaves Green, Chorley. Anyone is welcome to come along and join in, sessions generally include trying out a new craft in an informal workshops whilst being plied with yummy cakes and plenty of tea and coffee. If you are interested in selling crafts this is also a good place to socialise with other crafters who have been there and pick up business tips, but this is now a predominantly social afternoon.
You can find out more about us via our facebook page Chorley Contemporary Crafters
As we are constantly evolving another great way to get a flavour of what we are about is to take a look at what our individual members are up to. Use the tab 'group links' for our individual websites, blogs, online shops etc.
